Bulldozer Maintenance: The Three Essentials
Proper bulldozer maintenance hinges on three key areas: daily inspection, scheduled replacement, and critical component care. Mastering these points is the most effective way to extend your equipment’s service life.
The Focus of Maintenance
1. Never Skip Daily Checks
Before and after operation, always inspect fluid levels (oil, water, diesel), clean the exterior, and check for loose bolts and abnormal instrument readings. Address any oil or water leaks immediately to prevent further damage.
2. Strictly Follow Scheduled Replacements
Replace engine oil, filters, and hydraulic oil based on operating hours.
- First Service: Typically at 500 hours.
- Subsequent Service: Every 500 hours thereafter.
- Air Filter: Clean or replace the air filter whenever it appears dirty.
3. Meticulous Care for Key Components
Maintain proper track tension; both excessive tightness and looseness can cause damage. In summer, ensure the cooling system and antifreeze are functioning correctly. In winter, switch to low-pour-point diesel and engine oil to prevent cold-weather starting issues.
